Overview of the Role

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Radiotherapy Specialist to join our dedicated team at University Hospitals Dorset. This position is integral to our treatment planning services, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

The successful applicant will engage in comprehensive treatment planning, verification processes, and brachytherapy procedures, primarily located within our advanced facilities.

Our department is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including multiple linear accelerators and dedicated imaging systems, facilitating a robust treatment planning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a senior contributor within the planning team, overseeing treatment planning and verification.
  • Conduct training sessions for junior staff and ensure adherence to departmental quality standards.
  • Participate in the brachytherapy service as required, ensuring precision and accuracy in all processes.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Registered Radiographer with the Health Professions Council or equivalent.

Experience Required:

  • Proven expertise in external beam treatment planning and verification.
  • Experience in mentoring and training colleagues in treatment planning methodologies.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or modules related to treatment planning.
  • Experience in brachytherapy techniques and systems.
