Deputy Children's Home Manager

The Deputy Children's Home Manager will assist the manager in the management, coordination, and development of quality therapeutic services for young people living at our home.
The successful candidate will ensure the home exceeds all standards as stated in the Children's Home Regulations 2015.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing effective, empathetic, and dynamic leadership and coordinating staff
- Leading by example and being a role model for team members and children
- Promoting team development and effective team working
- Ensuring all team members have meaningful supervision
- Identifying those who may need support and implementing support to help their team
- Being responsible for quality inductions for their staff team
- Ensuring accurate paperwork in the home
- Ensuring all Health and Safety Regulations, including fire, medication, vehicles, and premises, are followed
- Ensuring all finance, budgets, control, administration, and records comply with procedures
We are looking for a Deputy Children's Home Manager with the following skills and attributes:
- Must have experience in Residential Children's Social Care with a minimum of one year's experience, ideally as a senior support worker
- Understanding of Trauma-Informed Care and therapeutic background, with a working knowledge of PACE and effective understanding of what a therapeutic placement looks like for children
- Strong leadership and effective communication
- Hold a Level 3 NVQ diploma in Residential Childcare
- UK driving license
- Confidence and understanding of The Children's Home Regulations and all legislation associated with the running of a registered Children's Home
- Confidence when dealing with people, the ability to challenge, guide, and mentor
- A clear DBS and positive references from all companies where you have worked with children or vulnerable adults
- The ability and strength of character to deal with challenging situations
