Job Summary:

We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Section Chef to join our team at Trinity College Cambridge. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will assist the Executive Head Chef, Shift Head Chefs and Sous Chefs in the production of innovative high-quality dishes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals for the Trinity community, including students, staff and Fellows
  • Work with high-quality fresh ingredients in a modern kitchen environment
  • Lead by example and inspire junior staff to deliver exceptional service
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment and facilities
  • Participate in menu planning and development

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in a busy commercial kitchen environment
  • NVQ level 2/3 in Catering or equivalent
  • Certificate in Food Hygiene
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
