SENCO Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SENCO to lead our provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The ideal candidate will hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) and be passionate about driving positive outcomes for students with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the school's SEND strategy, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Manage and coordinate provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs, including supporting teachers in identifying and meeting individual student needs.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) for students, working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Conduct assessments, oversee interventions, and monitor the progress of students with SEND, ensuring they receive the appropriate support to achieve their full potential.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to teachers and support staff to enhance their understanding of SEN and effective classroom strategies.

Requirements:
