Key Responsibilities
As a Clinical Pharmacy Technician specializing in medicine management, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting medication reconciliation in accordance with established guidelines and local protocols.
- Overseeing the procurement, monitoring, storage, and disposal of stock and patient-specific medications.
- Implementing the drug chart revision process to minimize transcription errors.
- Providing regular in-person patient consultations.
- Evaluating the suitability of complex specialized treatments and collaborating with nursing, pharmacy, and medical teams.
- Coordinating with pharmacies to ensure prompt and accurate medication supply.
- Regularly reviewing medication charts to assess performance metrics and ensure compliance with service standards.
- Conducting quarterly audits of controlled drugs and storage in collaboration with the ward.
- Performing quarterly audits of controlled drugs and storage with Community Mental Health Teams.
- Collaborating effectively as a member of the medicine management team.

Qualifications
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 and BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Completion of SWMIT/PWDS Accredited Medicine Management Training program at the following levels:
- Foundation
- Intermediate
Desirable
- Accredited Checking Technician.
