Job Description

Wood Process & Energy is seeking a Senior Planner to support a project with Centrica Storage Limited (CSL) on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and reporting accurate project schedules and plans in support of the robust control of projects throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit project schedules and plans, ensuring they are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Support the management and development of the Planning team, the management of project schedules and plans, and the preparation and filing of project planning documentation.
  • Act as the focal point for several project scopes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of project plans and schedules.
  • Liaise with engineering, procurement, and construction functions, and others as required, to maintain awareness of project activities, their status, and their impact on the project schedule and manpower requirements.
  • Prepare and provide copies of project plans and schedules in accordance with project reporting requirements.
  • Monitor and control planning activities through all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets.
  • Participate in schedule risk analysis and Project Controls Compliance and Continuous Improvement Reviews.
  • Assist and support in the mentoring of junior Planning personnel.
Requirements
  • Typically requires an ISCED level 6 (Bachelors) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience).
  • Proficient knowledge of Primavera and other scheduling software and related tools and techniques, including Logic and CPM analysis, resource loading and levelling.
  • Proficient understanding of WBS & CBS structures and project reporting capabilities.
  • Ability to develop project schedules and plans.
  • Proficient understanding of earned value application, cost and schedule variance analyses/trending and what-if scenarios.
  • Detailed understanding of project management principles and techniques.
  • Good understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management.
