Job Title: Community Child Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Child Specialist to join our team at North East London NHS Foundation Trust. As a Community Child Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to children and young people with mental health needs in the Barking and Dagenham area.

About the Role:

This is a substantive and full-time position, and we are looking for a candidate who can provide senior medical support to the team and direct input on clinical cases. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing care to children and young people with mental health needs, and will have the opportunity to influence future direction, treatment, and models of care in the area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide senior medical support to the team and direct input on clinical cases
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing care to children and young people with mental health needs
  • Develop links with local acute trusts A&E departments and inpatient wards
  • Provide guidance and supervision to the team
  • Work directly with children and young people and their families, and liaise as appropriate with other external CAMHS mental health providers
Requirements:
  • Mastery in the management of a broad range of mental disorders in children, including neurodevelopmental disorders
  • At least 4 years of full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time basis) of which at least 2 years will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee or shall have equivalent experience and competencies
