Environmental Sustainability Partner (Industry) – Fixed Term for 12 months

The British Film Institute is seeking two dedicated Environmental Sustainability Partners to enhance our Sustainability team; one focusing on Industry and the other on Corporate.

Industry Role - This position will spearhead initiatives directed at the industry and provide essential support. Responsibilities include managing the BFI National Lottery Sustainable Screen fund and nurturing relationships with awardees such as BAFTA Albert and Julie's Bicycle. Additionally, the role will implement industry-wide projects aimed at facilitating a green transition, in alignment with the objectives outlined in Screen Culture 2033.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications for Industry:

  • Strong understanding of climate change mitigation and adaptation, with the ability to convey this knowledge to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with environmental sustainability challenges and solutions within the cultural and creative sectors, including low-carbon technologies, energy efficiency, and circular economy practices.
  • Proven track record in executing sustainability initiatives and driving change within the cultural and creative industries.

Corporate Role – This position will play a crucial role in enabling the BFI to fulfill its commitments to environmental sustainability across its operations and facilities, as detailed in our ten-year strategy, Screen Culture 2033.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications for Corporate:

  • In-depth knowledge of environmental sustainability practices within the cultural and creative sectors.
  • Comprehensive understanding of climate change mitigation and adaptation, with the ability to effectively communicate this to diverse audiences.
  • Extensive knowledge of carbon management, low-carbon technologies, renewable energy, and energy efficiency measures.

Both positions will report to the Head of Environmental Sustainability and will contribute to achieving the goals of the BFI Environmental Sustainability Strategy.
