Main Duties of the JobThe post holder will ensure that patient services and medicines management are delivered in a safe, effective, economic, and timely manner. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all documentation and procedures are carried out in accordance with current legislation and guidelines. Patient services will include in-patient and ward-based dispensing as well as the management of stock including stock control, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and implementing new processes to improve stock holding within the department. Medicines Management will include supporting medicines optimisation at ward level. They will support the Pharmacy Technician Specialists in developing and maintaining the medicines management service at ward level. This will include the assessment of patients' own drugs, medicines reconciliation, providing original pack dispensing, counselling patients about their medicines, and co-ordinating supply of discharge medicines which includes dispensing TTAs on the wards.

- Demonstrable ability to meet the trust values
- Holds an NVQ Pharmacy Service Level 3 / with accredited underpinning knowledge (BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and the Practice of Pharmacy Technicians) or equivalent.
- Registered with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician
Desirable
- Accreditation in Training Skills (ATS) qualification / Educational Supervisor / Practice Supervisor or working towards*
- Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification or working towards*
- Accreditation in Medicines Management (AIMM) qualification / Medicines Optimisation Program (MOP) or working towards*
