We are seeking a dedicated and caring Autism Support Assistant to provide invaluable support to a young learner with educational needs. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in enabling a child with educational barriers to overcome their obstacles and achieve their full potential.

A highly-regarded primary school is searching for an Autism Support Assistant to provide long-term support to a child with an EHCP. The ideal candidate will be charismatic, empathetic, and demonstrate a genuine desire to make a positive impact on children with SEN. Previous experience working with children with Autism is desirable for this role.

This is a tremendous opportunity to gain experience within the Special Needs and Mental Health sector. As an Autism Support Assistant, you will have the chance to observe, work alongside, and collaborate with speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, occupational therapists, and teachers with SEN specialisms.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to a child with Autism, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Work closely with the child's teachers and other professionals to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist with daily living skills, such as personal care and hygiene, and provide emotional support as needed.
  • Collaborate with the child's family to ensure a consistent and supportive approach.
  • Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with Autism or other special needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting children with SEN.
