Autism Support Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Assistant to join our team at a highly-regarded primary school in Swindon. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to a child with Autism, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure seamless support and progress.
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in Autism support and SEN teaching.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with Autism or SEN is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on children's lives.
