We are currently in search of a reliable and skilled School Transport Operator to become part of a Pupil Referral Unit.


Position Overview:

As a School Transport Operator, you will be essential in providing safe and dependable transportation for students to and from the Pupil Referral Unit.

This role demands a conscientious individual with a strong sense of responsibility and a dedication to positively influencing the lives of young individuals.


Key Duties:
  • Ensure the safe transportation of students to and from the Pupil Referral Unit, prioritizing their safety and comfort.
  • Keep the transport vehicle in a clean and operational state, performing daily inspections and promptly reporting any concerns.
  • Comply with all institutional policies and procedures, especially those concerning health and safety.
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with students, staff, and guardians, promoting a nurturing and respectful atmosphere.
  • Assist in supervising students during transit, effectively managing their behavior.
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules, ensuring punctuality and dependability.

Candidate Profile:

To excel in this position, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a School Transport Operator, preferably in an educational context.
  • A valid, clean UK driving license with a D1 category.
  • Exceptional driving abilities with a keen understanding of road safety and regulations.
  • The capability to manage and support young individuals, exhibiting patience and empathy.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A proactive mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
