Ward Inventory Specialist

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ward Inventory Specialist to join our dynamic and diverse Materials Management team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient management of clinical and other stock associated with the functioning and effectiveness of our specialist NHS Hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and monitor all PPE, clinical goods receipting, ordering, and inventory management tasks.
- Visit service user departments, undertake meetings with end users concerning stock issues, and undertake inventory stock ordering using Automatic Data Capture, handheld devices, and other Materials Management systems.
- Liaise with the relevant Trust Team/committees as well as external partners from NCL and NHS Supply Chain on a daily basis.
- Provide an efficient materials management service to the Trust and the Procurement team.
- A-level or NVQ L3 or equivalent experience of at least 2 years in a related environment.
- Inventory Management skills.
- Experience of distribution and storage of high-turnover critical stock lines.
- IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and web-based searches.
- Understanding of procurement processes and methodology.
- Ability to run-back order checks and avoid stock-out situations.
- Understanding of eProcurement and ability to raise purchase orders.
- Working relationship with key suppliers, NHS Supply Chain.
- Basic awareness of Health and Safety in the workplace.
- Experience of working in a dynamic stores environment.
- Broad knowledge of the NHS.
- At least 2 years of experience in Materials Management or working in an NHS environment.
- Knowledge of clinical stock.
- NHS Supply Chain online system.
- Experience and knowledge of PPE stock and ability to understand the current circumstances around the global pandemic.
- Working in the Public sector experience.
- Continued Professional Development Record.
- Ability to identify problems, use initiative.
- Analytical and judgement skills.
- Communication and relationship skills.
- Good planning and organisation skills.
- Maintain an efficient service within recognised boundaries.
