Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Storage Systems Engineer to join our team at Net2Source Inc. as a NetApp Solutions Expert. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and executing storage systems, with a strong focus on NetApp Data ONTAP firmware upgrades and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute storage systems, including NetApp Data ONTAP firmware upgrades and recommendations
  • Implement and upgrade NetApp Operations Manager (OM) to ensure optimal system performance
  • Monitor storage and data management systems using OM to identify potential issues and optimize system performance
  • Perform on-site diagnostics and replacement of hardware components to ensure system uptime
  • Coordinate with NetApp Global Support Center (GSC) to resolve technical issues and provide support to customers
  • Develop and implement test plans to ensure system reliability and performance
  • Participate in regular reviews with customers to ensure satisfaction and identify areas for improvement
  • Document NetApp storage environments to ensure accurate and up-to-date information

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide weekly written status reports on professional services performed under this service description
  • Perform daily monitoring and diagnostics to ensure system uptime and performance
  • Provide details on a local point of contact to NetApp for Return Material Authorizations
  • Serve as an assigned advisor responsible for understanding customer environments and representing customer support needs to the GSC
  • Provide assistance with the NetApp support site and advise on how to best use the site
  • Assist with technical support matters in cooperation with a Technical Support Engineer when required
  • Coordinate GSC customer service personnel and field resources to solve customer problems
  • Report on process and product maintenance to ensure system reliability and performance
  • Regularly analyze NetApp Auto support diagnostic data to identify potential issues and optimize system performance
  • Perform case trend analysis to identify areas for improvement
  • Provide proactive service management, including software and hardware release planning and bug analysis
  • Analyze software patches and field alerts and advise customers on appropriate next steps
  • Assist with disaster recovery (DR) planning, data archival planning, and data migration planning
  • Analyze customer needs and recommend additional products and services to meet those needs
  • Participate in customer weekly change management meetings
  • Assist customers in modifying NetApp scripts
