Job Title: Lead Activity Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Lead Activity Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing a stimulating and varied program of leisure activities and social events for residents of Gold Care Homes. This role will involve working closely with residents, care staff, and external partners to create a engaging and inclusive environment that promotes independence, choice, and dignity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult with residents to identify their social and recreational requirements and preferences.
  • Develop and maintain a social care plan for each resident, ensuring it is up-to-date and regularly reviewed.
  • Plan and deliver a weekly program of activities and social events that cater to the diverse needs and interests of residents.
  • Liaise with care staff and relatives to ensure the care and well-being of residents.
  • Formulate and maintain a stimulating program of activities for groups and individuals, considering residents' likes and dislikes.
  • Ensure the activity and social program incorporates evenings and weekends.
  • Liaise with relatives and staff regarding special individual requirements, such as birthdays and anniversaries, cultural and religious festivals, and celebrations.
  • Familiarize and connect with key community groups to enhance the care home's presence in the community.
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of the social events and activities program.
  • Work as an active team member with colleagues to ensure the highest standards of care are achieved.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with Gold Care Homes' policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan and deliver activities that cater to diverse needs and interests.
  • Knowledge of community resources and services.

Working Relationships:

The Lead Activity Coordinator will work closely with care staff, residents, relatives, and external partners to deliver a high-quality program of activities and social events.

Learning and Development:

The Lead Activity Coordinator will be required to undertake statutory and mandatory training to meet the requirements of current legislation and attend appropriate training courses to enhance personal and professional knowledge and skills.
