The Primary Care Nurse plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality nursing services to the practice's patient population. This position is based at Skewen Medical Centre and is part-time.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing safe, evidence-based, and individualized patient care.
- Managing a diverse clinical caseload, addressing both acute and chronic patient needs.
- Contributing to the enhancement of nursing services within the practice.
- Performing wound care and management for patients.
- Conducting cervical screenings and managing chronic diseases.
- Administering vaccinations and injections, including baby immunizations.
- Offering travel health advice to patients.
- Assisting physicians with specific procedures, including coil IUCD insertions.
- Delivering health education and guidance to patients.
- Providing support and assistance to physicians during minor surgical procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with GMS contract obligations.
- Maintaining accurate patient records in accordance with professional standards.
- Fostering effective communication and collaboration with all members of the healthcare team.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Experience in practice nursing is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively within a team environment.
