Role Overview:

In the capacity of Senior Town Planner, you will be instrumental in the planning and execution of renewable energy projects throughout the UK.

Your responsibilities will encompass managing the comprehensive planning process, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project delivery.

This role presents an exceptional opportunity to be at the forefront of the renewable energy landscape, contributing to the advancement of sustainable energy solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct the planning process from initiation to completion.
  • Draft and submit planning applications, ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and policies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and external consultants to compile and integrate project information.
  • Conduct site evaluations and feasibility analyses to uncover potential development prospects.
  • Track project progress, manage schedules, and ensure that project milestones are achieved.
  • Provide expert guidance on planning matters and navigate the intricacies of local and national planning regulations.
  • Engage with local authorities, communities, and other essential stakeholders to address planning issues and facilitate approvals.
  • Assist the project team in obtaining necessary permits and permissions for project advancement.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory updates to ensure project alignment with current standards.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a planning role within a consultancy or development context, preferably with a focus on renewable energy and solar projects.
  • Strong knowledge of UK planning laws and processes relevant to renewable energy initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in managing planning applications and navigating the approval landscape.
  • Exceptional project management capabilities with the ability to juggle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Self-driven, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a remote team.
  • Willingness to travel to London every 2-3 months for team meetings.
