A solid foundation in threat intelligence, cybersecurity analytics, and a comprehensive understanding of the threat landscape is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Threat Intelligence Gathering and Analysis:
    • Gather and analyze information from diverse sources, including open-source intelligence (OSINT), commercial threat feeds, dark web surveillance, and proprietary tools.
    • Identify, assess, and prioritize potential threats and vulnerabilities pertinent to the organization.
    • Track cyber threat trends and emerging tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) employed by threat actors.
  2. Threat Reporting and Communication:
    • Generate comprehensive threat intelligence reports, detailing potential impacts and recommended mitigation strategies.
    • Establish and maintain threat profiles of known malicious entities and groups targeting the sector.
    • Present findings to internal stakeholders, including senior management and technical teams, to guide decision-making and enhance security posture.
  3. Support for Incident Response:
    • Work alongside the incident response team to provide intelligence support during ongoing security incidents.
    • Examine threat data from incidents to pinpoint attack vectors and threat actor behaviors.
    • Contribute to post-incident evaluations and reporting, offering insights to avert future occurrences.
  4. Research and Development in Security:
    • Conduct investigations into advanced threats and vulnerabilities, remaining informed about the latest developments in the cyber threat landscape.
    • Develop and refine methodologies for threat detection and analysis.
    • Evaluate and test new threat intelligence tools and technologies to improve detection and analysis capabilities.
  5. Collaboration and Networking:
    • Foster and maintain relationships with industry peers, law enforcement, and intelligence-sharing communities.
    • Engage in threat intelligence sharing initiatives and forums.
    • Collaborate with external partners and vendors to bolster the organization's threat intelligence capabilities.
  6. Training and Awareness Initiatives:
    • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on recognizing and mitigating cyber threats.
    • Design and implement threat awareness programs and materials to educate employees on cybersecurity best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • 3-5 years of experience in cyber threat intelligence, information security, or a related field.
  • Strong grasp of cyber threat intelligence concepts, frameworks, and methodologies.
  • Experience with threat intelligence platforms (TIPs), SIEM systems, and other security tools.
  • Proficiency in utilizing various data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of threat actor groups, malware families, and TTPs.
  • Exceptional analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Threat Intelligence Analyst (CTIA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or GIAC Cyber Threat Intelligence (GCTI) are highly desirable.
