Logistics Operations Supervisor
Menzies Distribution is in search of a dedicated and experienced Logistics Operations Supervisor to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our parcel sorting facility. This role is crucial in managing the daily operations of the warehouse and ensuring smooth mechanical sorting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the oversight and management of daily warehouse operations alongside Operations Managers. Contribute to the formulation and execution of strategies aimed at maximizing productivity, minimizing costs, and enhancing overall operational effectiveness. Track and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to pinpoint areas needing improvement and support the implementation of necessary adjustments. Work in collaboration with the Operations Manager to apply flow management techniques, ensuring the timely and precise sorting, processing, and dispatching of parcels. Provide mentorship, training, and support to warehouse personnel, fostering high performance and productivity levels. Facilitate communication and coordination with other departments to ensure uninterrupted operations. Establish and uphold standard operating procedures (SOPs) to guarantee consistency and efficiency in warehouse functions. Collaborate closely with the site SHEQ Coordinator and Training and Compliance Coordinator to ensure all staff members comply with regulations. Uphold health and safety standards, ensuring a secure working environment for all employees.Qualifications:
Previous supervisory experience in a parcel sorting warehouse is advantageous. Familiarity with flow management techniques is essential. Strong people management abilities, with a talent for motivating and inspiring team members. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. Proficient in warehouse management systems and relevant software applications.
