About the Role

ChandlerKBS is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Manager to join our Utilities team, working on projects across South Wales. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality cost management services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bid and Tender Preparation: Contribute to the preparation of bids and tenders, ensuring that our proposals meet the client's requirements and are aligned with our business development goals.
  • Project Delivery: Assume day-to-day delivery responsibility for projects and programmes of work, demonstrating the ability to take on tasks without supervision and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Cost Management: Monitor project fees and ensure that resource and time inputs are in line with approved budgets, ensuring that our clients receive value for money.
  • Change Control: Ensure that change control processes are effectively managed, ensuring that our services are delivered in accordance with the client's requirements.
  • Service Delivery: Strengthen our service delivery capability, promote knowledge capture, sharing, and innovation, and ensure that our services are delivered to a high standard of quality.
  • Contract Administration: Prepare and evaluate tenders, contractor selection, and contract documentation, ensuring that our contracts are compliant with industry standards.
  • Risk and Value Management: Provide risk and value management services, ensuring that our clients are aware of potential risks and opportunities.
  • Communication: Provide regular updates to clients, stakeholders, and team members, ensuring that everyone is informed and aligned with project progress.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Ideally degree qualified in construction, cost management, engineering, quantity surveying, or other RICS-accredited degree.
  • Experience: MRICS or other equivalent qualification or experience, with a strong background in cost management and project delivery.
  • Skills: Strong core technical skills, strong interpersonal and team-building skills, good analytical skills, sound judgement, and aptitude for forward planning.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead a team, motivate and mentor team members, and ensure that our services are delivered to a high standard of quality.
  • Communication: Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to clients and stakeholders.
