Job Overview:

As a key member of the Jones and Palmer team, this role plays a vital part in ensuring the quality and accuracy of all written content produced by the company. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and edit all client work, including print and digital materials, to ensure accuracy and consistency in style, formatting, and sequencing.
  • Conduct thorough checks for factual inaccuracies and discrepancies in content, requiring a good general knowledge and attention to detail.
  • Maintain and update client style guides to ensure cohesion across projects and highlight any discrepancies for alignment.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of content within client projects, including phrasing, URLs, page references, capitalization, and hyphenation.
  • Support other teams with internal proofreading requirements as needed.
  • Identify and escalate issues, as well as delivery risks, promptly.
  • Adhere to business processes, housekeeping, and workflows.
  • Contribute to the wider function of the Studio, sharing knowledge, improving quality, and helping to deliver change, while maintaining a positive department profile.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A thorough knowledge of the English language, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a proofreading role, using PDF markup and/or tracked changes.
  • A professional qualification in proofreading.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with high-quality standards.
  • A good working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
