The ideal candidate for the Healthcare Security Officer role will possess:
- A strong commitment to the safety of patients, visitors, and staff
- Confidence in navigating a hospital environment, including interactions with distressed patients
- Effective communication skills, particularly with individuals experiencing mental health challenges
- Ability to de-escalate tense situations with empathy
- Willingness to engage in patient restraint and manage aggressive behavior
- Understanding of routine procedures such as key management and patrolling
- Knowledge of public safety protocols, including counter-terrorism measures
- Familiarity with The Mental Health Act and relevant healthcare guidelines
- Capacity to work under pressure, both independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in computer usage
Your typical shift schedule will include:
- Monday: Full-time (Days)
- Tuesday: Full-time (Days)
- Wednesday: Off
- Thursday: Off
- Friday: Off
- Saturday: Off
- Sunday: Off
In this role, you will:
- Utilize training to assist clinical teams in de-escalating violent incidents
- Support clinical teams in safely restraining patients when necessary
- Assist law enforcement with individuals under arrest at the facility
- Respond to various incidents within the hospital and its grounds
- Deliver exceptional customer service to all stakeholders
- Conduct internal and external patrols
- Complete incident reports and maintain the Daily Occurrence Book
- Participate in post-incident evaluations and implement improvements
- Manage ID badges and Access Control cards
- Monitor CCTV and alarms as required
- Oversee car park security
- Help prevent acts of violence and disorder
- Contribute to a high-performing team dedicated to creating a secure environment for all users
