Principal Nuclear Medicine Physicist

At GenesisCare, we're seeking a highly skilled Principal Nuclear Medicine Physicist to join our team at our state-of-the-art cancer care centre in Windsor. As a key member of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, effective, and efficient nuclear medicine services.

The Role:

As the Principal Nuclear Medicine Physicist, you'll be responsible for overseeing the provision of scientific support for nuclear medicine services, including molecular radiotherapy, PET-CT, diagnostic nuclear medicine, and radiopharmacy. You'll also manage quality assurance programmes for nuclear medicine equipment, ensuring safe and effective use.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide scientific support for nuclear medicine services, including molecular radiotherapy, PET-CT, diagnostic nuclear medicine, and radiopharmacy.
• Manage quality assurance programmes for nuclear medicine equipment, ensuring safe and effective use.
• Lead research and development activities to improve services and contribute to future planning.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, including IR(ME)R, IRR, and Environmental Permitting Regulations.
• Participate in training and the continuing education of staff, providing expert guidance and support.
• Provide radiation safety advice to clinical teams and assist in incident investigations involving ionising radiation.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in nuclear medicine physics, with demonstrated leadership experience.
• HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist and certification as a Medical Physics Expert under IR(ME)R.
• In-depth knowledge of nuclear medicine physics, including molecular radiotherapy and novel radionuclides.
• Experience with commissioning and acceptance testing of nuclear medicine equipment such as PET-CT and SPECT-CT.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical staff.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, statistical analysis, and knowledge of programming languages like Python and Matlab.
• Flexibility to work across centres, attend meetings, and work outside standard hours when required.
