About the Role

SSAFA is seeking an experienced social worker to join our team as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for safeguarding concerns across the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Safeguarding Issues: Work with the Head of Safeguarding and Social Work Services to identify and manage safeguarding issues raised within SSAFA or related to its work.
  • Provide Expert Advice: Offer expert advice to the organization, employees, and volunteers on safeguarding best practices and ensure that policies and procedures are up-to-date and effective.
  • Ensure Safeguarding Policy Adherence: Ensure that the safeguarding policy is adhered to across the organization and that all employees and volunteers are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Conduct Audits: Conduct regular audits to ensure that safeguarding practices are in line with policies and procedures and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide Social Work Support: Provide social work support to beneficiaries of SSAFA's Stepping Stones refuge, including maintaining case records and regular reports to the Director of Social Care Operations.
About the Team

You will become part of the Social Care Operations Directorate, reporting directly to the Head of Safeguarding and Social Work and working alongside other parts of SSAFA's specialist services.
