Job Title: Attendance Officer

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Attendance Officer to join our Student Experience Team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in monitoring and reporting on student attendance, ensuring accurate register maintenance.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with the College's Attendance and Punctuality Policy.
  • Generate and interpret weekly attendance reports using spreadsheets, databases, and other data sources.
  • Monitor register completion within assigned curriculum areas.
  • Liaise with staff to resolve attendance-related issues efficiently and professionally.
  • Attend weekly team meetings and work proactively with curriculum staff to ensure accurate attendance recording.
  • Collaborate with Learning and Development Mentors to implement strategies aimed at improving attendance.
  • Contact parents, carers, and students regarding lateness or absences and ensure all absences are properly recorded.
  • Assist with queries from academic and support staff, either in-person, via phone, or electronically.
  • Actively contribute to the College's safeguarding, equality, and diversity initiatives.
Key Skills & Requirements:
  • Strong organizational and data analysis skills.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and databases.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in the working environment.
