Attendance and Welfare Officer

Tempest Resourcing is collaborating with a prominent secondary school in Bolton to recruit a skilled Attendance and Welfare Officer.

About the Role

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Attendance and Welfare Officer to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths or equivalent, strong IT skills, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude towards staff and learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Improve student attendance to meet targets set by the Headteacher.
  • Manage attendance process elements, including leave of absence requests, Children Missing Education, Elective Home Education, and alternative provision.
  • Ensure the Children Missing Education procedure is followed by the school.
  • Follow the First Day Calling Procedure to comply with government guidelines.
  • Check registers for errors and messages, and liaise with school staff regarding unknown absences.
  • Provide operational and administrative support to promote whole school attendance strategies.
  • Receive incoming calls regarding attendance, telephone parents/carers for absent children, and contact Parent(s)/Carer(s) when students are marked absent.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of attendance procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
