Electrical Test and Inspection Engineer

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Test and Inspection Engineer to join our team at Kingston Barnes Ltd. As an Electrical Test and Inspection Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out fixed wire Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) on a wide variety of projects, identifying faults with electrical systems, and resolving them.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out inspection and testing on customer's electrical installations (EICRs), including Emergency Lighting testing and remedial repairs as required.
  2. Complete all relevant reports and certification associated with your inspection and testing.
  3. Diagnose and repair electrical issues in commercial and domestic electrical systems, including fault finding and rewiring.
  4. Assess the materials and hours required to carry out repairs and feed back reports to the office.
  5. Conduct routine maintenance and testing on commercial, industrial, agricultural and domestic electrical systems and ensure installations are to manufacturer's standards.
  6. Ensure good quality workmanship, which upholds Company standards, complies with building codes and follows safety requirements.
  7. Work alone to find and present faults and concerns in electrical systems without receiving explicit direction.
  8. Install electrical systems to current BS 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  9. Scheduled on the on-call rota, to attend sites and provide emergency electrical support.
  10. Any other electrical duties outside of core working hours, as requested by the Manager.

Requirements:

  1. SVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds 2360/2330 Part 1 & 2 qualification.
  2. Previous electrical experience of working in an electrical testing environment.
  3. Friendly and approachable with a flexible attitude, good customer focus and service.
  4. Knowledge of Policies, Processes and Procedures including Safety.
  5. Full UK driver's licence.
