About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious and forward-thinking Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our local Engineering team in Dumfries. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance activities, including reactive, planned, and improvement work, to ensure the smooth operation of our plant equipment and process machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out electrical maintenance activities in accordance with Company and Legislative Safety, Compliance, and Environmental procedures.
  • Be an effective communicator with all team members, ensuring seamless collaboration and information sharing.
  • Responsible for the electrical maintenance of our plant equipment and process machinery, including PLCs and Electrical Drive Systems.
  • Assist in training apprentices, including acting as a mentor and defining best practices.
About You

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Electrical Maintenance Specialist who is educated to City & Guild or SVQ Level 3 (Electrical) and has a time-served background in electrical maintenance. You should have a working basic understanding of ventilation, pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam service systems. Additionally, you should have a detailed understanding of Siemens PLC logic, programming, fault diagnosis, and repair, as well as previous work with Industrial Robotics.

Required Skills
  • Demonstrable reactive and proactive attitude to equipment repair and lifecycle management.
  • Determination, drive, and willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Control and Electrical Drive systems.
  • Logical approach to fault finding and problem solving, with a focus on issue prevention.
  • Be able to understand and update Electrical Schematics and control documentation.
  • A working knowledge of PLCs is desirable, preferably Siemens or Beckhoff, training can also be provided.
  • Be conversant with Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, and Teams.
