Bournemouth, Bournemouth, United Kingdom Teaching Personnel Full time

Join Our Team as an Individual Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated Individual Support Assistants to provide essential support in educational settings.

  • Flexible Working Hours Available
  • Competitive Daily Rate: £77-£95
  • Focus on One-on-One Support

This role involves working in a specialized educational environment, catering to secondary-aged students who have faced challenges in mainstream schooling. This includes students with temporary or permanent exclusions, as well as those with special educational needs such as Autism, ADHD, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. Candidates should be prepared to engage with students who may exhibit challenging behaviors.

As an Individual Support Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the educational engagement of students. You will collaborate with the classroom teacher to support the learning objectives set for each student. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in managing behavior effectively. Some positions may require off-site support, which could involve accompanying students to libraries or learning centers.

We are looking for candidates who are resilient, possess strong behavior management skills, and can maintain a positive and engaging atmosphere. Experience in educational settings is not mandatory; we also encourage applications from individuals with backgrounds in youth work, sports coaching, military service, custodial work, or residential care.

We offer a variety of working arrangements, including full-time, part-time, and ad-hoc opportunities.

All applicants must hold the necessary qualifications and training for this role. For further information regarding qualifications, please refer to the FAQs on the Teaching Personnel website.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We conduct thorough safeguarding checks on all staff in accordance with statutory guidance. This may include an online search as part of our due diligence for shortlisted candidates.

We provide all registered candidates with complimentary training in child protection and prevent duty. All candidates must have completed or be in the process of obtaining a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, with full assistance provided.
