We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our busy Maintenance team at the University of Cambridge.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining building services to a high standard of safety and compliance with current regulations. This will involve working closely with a supervisor to ensure day-to-day maintenance duties are completed efficiently and effectively.
The role also involves providing assistance and direction to a small team of electricians and specialist contractors in the repair, construction, and refurbishment of new or modified services. A wide knowledge of mechanical and electrical services, including lighting, power, and distribution systems, mechanical plant controls, and Building Management Systems, is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain building services to a high standard of safety and compliance with current regulations
- Work closely with a supervisor to ensure day-to-day maintenance duties are completed efficiently and effectively
- Provide assistance and direction to a small team of electricians and specialist contractors
- Support the development and implementation of maintenance plans and schedules
The successful candidate will be educated to at least Level 4/HNC standard or equivalent and hold an industry-recognised qualification in electrical installation and inspection and testing. Experience in a similar role, along with a sound working knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations, excellent communication and inter-personal skills, and a flexible approach to work are essential. A current full Driving Licence is also required.
