About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Nurse Specialist to join our Early Intervention in Psychosis service at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals experiencing their first episode of psychosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessments, care coordination, outreach, and support to individuals and their families, working to reduce the duration of untreated psychosis.
  • Deliver individual therapy and family interventions as part of our Family Support Service.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each individual.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in early intervention and psychosis care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service-wide initiatives to improve patient outcomes and experiences.
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or equivalent qualification.
  • Current registration with the relevant professional body.
  • Post-qualifying experience in acute mental health settings, with a focus on early intervention and psychosis care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a strong focus on patient-centered care and compassion.
  • Knowledge of resources and working practices across health and social care, with a commitment to collaborative working.
