Team Dynamics: This role is situated within the Group Electrical & Controls division, which is tasked with ensuring that all new product developments and ongoing product maintenance adhere to the necessary technical specifications and timelines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Excel in a dynamic and agile setting, crafting prototype solutions to validate innovative concepts.
  • Develop ECU Network architectures that fulfill the outlined requirements.
  • Design electrical system architectures down to the component level.
  • Coordinate with third-party support vendors to establish requirements and corresponding software frameworks.
  • Design vehicle electrical wiring systems as needed, transitioning designs to the EDS team for execution.
  • Maintain a strong interest in monitoring system health and status through onboard diagnostic protocols or over-the-air communications.
  • Conduct cause-and-effect analyses, including risk assessments, FMEA, 8D, and Ishikawa/fishbone methodologies.
  • Engage in hands-on electrical system development, verification and validation testing, and fault analysis.


Qualifications: A minimum of HNC/HND level qualification in an electronic or software technology discipline, or equivalent experience.


Essential Skills:

  • Proficient understanding of hydraulic and electrical system integration.
  • Experience in PLC panel design and ladder logic relevant to this sector.
  • Familiarity with IBM DOORS and JAMA.
  • Knowledge of various CAN bus protocols and a solid understanding of the engineering lifecycle V Model, particularly concerning electrical systems.
  • Awareness of security implications to ensure the development of secure and resilient systems (both hardware and software).
  • Experience in functional testing and fault insertion testing, either on machinery or test rigs.
  • Comfortable utilizing various electronic laboratory tools, such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, DC power supplies, and digital voltmeters.
