About the Role

West Northamptonshire Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Finance Business Partner to join their Strategic Finance Team. As an Assistant Finance Business Partner, you will play a key role in supporting the Place, Finance and Corporate Services Business Partner Team, applying your accountancy skills and business acumen to drive financial planning and analysis.

The successful candidate will be a part-qualified accountant or committed to studying towards a qualification, with significant financial experience working in a similar role. This position offers a flexible working arrangement, with two days of office-based work per week.

You will be responsible for supporting budget holders in financial planning and budget modelling, advising on financial analysis for revenue and capital income and expenditure, and working with budget holders to ensure accurate and timely budget monitoring. Additionally, you will assist in the assessment of business case appraisals, develop financial systems and processes, and ensure compliance with the Council's Financial Procedure Rules and SORPs.

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex financial and non-financial information. You will also have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
