Job Title: Chef - Chaucer House, Canterbury

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Chaucer House, a residential care home in Canterbury, Kent. As a Chef, you will be responsible for leading and managing a dedicated team of kitchen staff to deliver high-quality meals and snacks to our residents.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare menus in consultation with the Home Manager, residents, and care staff
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure food hygiene and health & safety regulations are observed
  • Prepare and cook meals and snacks from fresh, frozen, and pre-packed ingredients
  • Check deliveries against orders and maintain stock control

Requirements:

  • Experience of running a catering service, including team management skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of catering for the elderly, including special dietary requirements
  • Environmental Health Certificate in Food Hygiene
  • Relevant Level 2 food/catering qualification and willingness to undertake Level 3 qualification within three months
