About the Role:

The Recruit LAB. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Director/Company Accountant to join our client's growing family-run business in the construction and land waste removal sector.

As a key member of the senior management team, you will be responsible for leading the professionalization of the in-house finance function and supporting the company's growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Operations:
  • Manage and streamline financial processes, including financial transactions, payroll, and cash management.
  • Produce management accounts and incisive management reports to support decision-making processes.
  • Prepare annual financial statements and tax returns, including R&D tax credit claims.
  • Manage the annual budgeting process and ensure general compliance with taxation and other requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support business decisions and maintain financial systems and software.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Communicate financial performance and key financial metrics to stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Manage relationships with banks, lenders, and other financial institutions.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership/consulting role.
