Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead 2nd Stage procurement across multiple projects for a successful Tier 1 Main Contractor operating across Essex.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility for cost estimation and budgeting, liaising with internal departments.
  • Prepare procurement strategy for packages from order to start on site.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors and supply chain to ensure prompt return of quotes/pricing.
  • Assess and review subcontractor responses, in line with project design.
  • Encourage and promote cooperative working and long-term relationships with the businesses supply chain.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years+ experience as a Quantity Surveyor working for a Main Contractor.
  • Stable career history with experience working on New Build projects in excess of £20m.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and previous experience procuring subcontractors.
  • Previous Roles: Managing QS OR Senior Quantity Surveyor OR Project QS OR Quantity Surveyor OR Commercial Manager OR Senior Cost Manager OR Pre-Contract Surveyor.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management or comparable qualification including HNC, BTEC, NVQ or MSc.
