About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Surveyor to join our team at BD Group. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing our assets and housing stock.

Key Responsibilities
  • Asset Management: Prepare work specifications, liaise with sub-contractors, and record work completion to ensure timely and efficient delivery of projects.
  • Reactive Repairs and Maintenance: Manage reactive repairs and maintenance projects, including planning, coordinating, and overseeing maintenance activities from start to finish.
  • Customer Liaison: Act as a customer contact for repair issues, addressing complaints and queries, and coordinating aids and adaptation work.
  • Team Support: Support the Repairs Team in managing contractors, monitoring performance, and ensuring targets are met.
  • Procedure Development: Review and produce new procedures for the team to ensure best practices and efficient workflows.
Requirements
  • Professional Qualifications: Membership or accreditation with a relevant professional body, such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Proven experience in building surveying, particularly in dealing with damp and mould issues, and managing reactive repairs and maintenance projects.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of building construction, materials, and methods, particularly related to damp and mould issues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Working Arrangements
  • Working Pattern: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Location: Barking & Dagenham.
