We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our Highway Development Management Team at Leicestershire County Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing effective transport assessment and input on strategic masterplan sites, pre-application enquiries, outline planning applications, reserved matters applications, and planning appeals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing transport assessment and input on strategic masterplan sites, pre-application enquiries, outline planning applications, reserved matters applications, and planning appeals.
  • Engaging in effective negotiation to secure and deliver highways and transportation mitigation for development proposals, including through Section 106 discussions and identifying other funding sources as appropriate.
  • Delivering effective partnerships and working relationships with statutory, voluntary, private agencies, and communities.
  • Providing technical advice to members, partners, and stakeholders.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication skills, knowledge of highway development management or land use planning, effective negotiation skills, and experience of collaborative working with customers and key stakeholders to deliver outputs and outcomes.
