Transport Planner Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our team at fish4.co - Jobboard. As a key member of our Planning team, you will play a crucial role in managing our transportation operations and ensuring the smooth execution of our daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily handovers to ensure seamless communication and coordination with the Planning team.
  • Plan and optimize routes for our drivers to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Issue instructions to departments and ensure that all work is executed as planned, with a focus on updating planning systems and making real-time changes as needed.
  • Amalgamate workloads wherever possible to reduce resources and minimize empty running.
  • Manage collection and delivery times to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Monitor and control vehicles to ensure they are running efficiently and effectively.
  • Review and adjust the day's workload as needed to meet customer demands.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer queries in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements:
  • Transport Management CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) - highly desirable.
  • Experience managing or overseeing a planning team - highly desirable.
  • Previous experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and planning software.
  • Experience in general haulage - highly desirable.
  • Experience managing driver's hours, tacho, and infringements.
  • Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills.
