Job Description

Job Summary

GE Aviation's Power Conversion business is seeking a skilled Mechanical Systems Test Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical testing of rotating machines and power generation systems for the marine sector.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct thorough testing of rotating machine systems to ensure high-quality results, adhering to business procedures, standards, and regulations.
  2. Support the installation, commissioning, testing, fault finding, and maintenance of electro-mechanical systems LV.
  3. Collaborate with the design team to meet installation, test, and project objectives, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  4. Participate in plant control room operations and data acquisition.
  5. Undertake equipment installation, maintenance, and modifications.
  6. Supervise and manage subcontractors.
  7. Identify and propose improvements in processes, tools, and system solutions, implementing changes when agreed with the leadership team.
  8. Maintain and promote the highest standards of Health and Safety.
  9. Integrate large electro-mechanical systems for testing.
  10. Plan and execute relevant engineering activities to ensure projects meet on-time delivery, cost, and quality targets, including testing and documentation.
  11. Participate in phase reviews, design reviews, ILS reviews, FMEA, and determine attendees, objectives, and next steps, as well as act as the review chairperson.
  12. Liaise with suppliers to produce quotations and support their site activities.
  13. Ensure issued documents have been reviewed and meet the required quality, adhering to specifications and standards.

Requirements

  1. A relevant degree in Electromechanical or equivalent qualifications.
  2. EHS and First Aid Certificates.
  3. Electrical Competence LV Authorized.
  4. Proven track record of testing Electro-mechanical systems in a professional engineering environment.
  5. Sole British citizenship with a valid British Passport (UK Eyes only).
  6. Possession of or being capable of obtaining SC level security clearance.
