Position Overview

Utility Surveyor Role

Compensation: £35,000 - £45,000
Additional Benefits: Company vehicle, £7,000 in overtime and travel allowances

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct utility and topographical surveys.
  • Lift access covers and assist with data collection and measurements.
  • Identify utilities using electromagnetic locators and ground penetrating radar technology.
  • Execute total station and GPS/GNSS observations.
  • Utilize advanced technology such as Stream UP.
  • Generate utility survey drawings and comprehensive reports.
  • Address unforeseen technical challenges and provide guidance to junior team members as necessary.
  • Oversee and maintain surveying equipment.
  • Create CAD drawings from survey data and process GPR data using GREDHD and IQ Maps.
  • Contribute to the development of the surveying department and comply with company protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to QA/QC standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of experience in a Utility Surveyor capacity.
  • Experience in conducting topographical surveys and utilizing Robotic Total Stations & GNSS.
  • Expertise in GPR and electromagnetic locating methodologies.
  • A relevant qualification in a surveying-related field is preferred.
  • Proficient in CAD software applications.
  • Familiarity with PAS128 Standards.
  • Strong communication skills, a collaborative team player with a willingness to learn, and a proactive attitude.
  • Valid UK driving license and eligibility to work in the UK.
