Job Summary

Bath College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Installation Lecturer to join our team. As an Electrical Installation Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and assessment within the Electrical provision, encompassing both classroom/workshop theory and practical instruction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Learning: Deliver engaging learning programs that inspire and motivate learners on L1, L2, and L3 programs to improve their knowledge, skills, and behaviors in the Electrical field.
  • Curriculum Development: Plan and deliver high-quality learning materials, including schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, and learning resources.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct regular assessments of learning through observations, practical assessments, exam/assignment marking, and professional discussions.
  • Employer Engagement: Regularly gather feedback from employers and work placement providers to ensure satisfaction levels are high and learner engagement is maintained.
  • Curriculum Review: Ensure the curriculum is innovative, engaging, and provides impact, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Technology Integration: Embed English, Maths, and ICT into the curriculum and utilize the college's ProSuite systems to evidence and log learning interventions.
  • Quality Assurance: Coordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students' learning, and work with IQA to establish and ensure high-quality internal pre-gateway and qualification checks.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of learner assessments and achievements, and ensure these link across all aspects of delivery.
  • Departmental Support: Work proactively to forward the success and vision of the department.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Level 2 (e.g., GCSE) English and Maths at Grade C or above, and a nationally recognized qualification, at least to level 3, or equivalent, in an Electrical discipline.
  • Skills and Expertise: 18th Edition, 2nd Amendment qualification, TAQA Assessor Award (or willingness to work towards), Teaching Qualification (or willingness to work towards), Safeguarding & Prevent Level 1 certificate or willingness to work towards, and a Full UK Driving Licence and use of own vehicle.
