Controller of Site Safety/Person in Charge

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller of Site Safety/Person in Charge to join our team at DB Recruitment. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe working practices of all team members on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake all construction duties as directed, including de-vegetation, scour works, machine and plant operation, and drainage.
- Ensure all vehicles, materials, tools, and plant equipment under your control are fit for use and are used, stored, and disposed of correctly.
- Correctly use and maintain all personal protective equipment (PPE) provided and make requests for any replacements where needed.
- Discuss all aspects of your work with the General Foreman/Site Manager where you feel safety can be improved.
- Mentor General Operatives and less experienced team members in work tasks.
- Assist with administering site paperwork as directed, for daily and weekly submissions to Head Office.
- Encourage collaboration within your team to utilize skill sets and ensure all deadlines are met effectively.
Requirements:
- PTS (Possession of a Personal Track Safety) certification is essential.
- COSS (Competence Operation and Supervision Scheme) certification is essential.
- Experience in general construction in the Civil Engineering and Rail sector is essential.
- The ability and willingness to regularly work away from home, as well as on nights and weekends, is essential.
- Advantageous qualifications and experience in SSSTS, CSCS, PASMA, IPAF, First Aid, small tools, de-vegetation, scour works, 360 Excavator Operator, Dumper Driver, drainage, plant operator, and confined spaces are advantageous.
