Job Summary:
Latcom Plc is seeking a highly skilled Ecological Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our environmental consulting group, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and expertise in ecological surveys, project management, and client relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and oversee ecological surveys, including protected species surveys and extended Phase 1 habitat/UKHab surveys.
- Develop and manage project bids, surveys, and reports for various environmental projects.
- Contribute to the development of ecological deliverables, such as EIAs, EMPs, and HRAs.
- Manage client relationships and provide guidance to the environmental team.
Requirements:
- Membership in the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management and an acceptable academic degree in a related field.
- Licenses for protected species or other specialized knowledge relevant to ecological consulting.
- Experience conducting protected species surveys, extended Phase 1 habitat/UKHab surveys, and fee quotations and tender creation.
- Knowledge of entering data into technical ecological reports and authoring chapters on biodiversity and ecological impact assessments.
- Ability to manage medium- to large-scale initiatives and projects.
- Capacity to collaborate with ecologists and other environmental experts in a team.
- Understanding of pertinent laws pertaining to wildlife and ecological survey techniques.
