About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team at Brook Street Social Care. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting and guiding young people aged 10 to 18 who are in secure accommodation following court proceedings or for their safety and the safety of others.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support for young people with additional learning needs across the curriculum.
  • Lead a team of care practitioners to support the daily lives of young people with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Actively engage with and mentor young people, helping them develop both academically and personally.
Requirements
  • Enthusiastic and adaptable individual with experience working with challenging behaviour in a residential or educational environment.
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office, email, internet, and database programmes.
  • A Level 4 qualification in education delivery (or commitment to achieve it).
  • A solid understanding of child and adolescent development, child protection, and safeguarding policies.
