Fire Door Carpenter Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Door Carpenter to join our team in South London, Kent, and Reading. This is a permanent position that offers a competitive salary and weekly pay.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fire Door Installation: Accurately install fire doors per manufacturer specifications and legal requirements, ensuring compliance with fire safety standards.
  • Site Assessment and Preparation: Conduct site assessments to plan and prepare for door installation, making adjustments to existing structures if necessary.
  • Team Collaboration: Work in a two-person team, with each fitter responsible for installing one door per assignment. Collaborate effectively to complete projects efficiently and safely.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform checks on installed doors to ensure functionality, alignment, and compliance with fire safety regulations.
  • Customer Interaction: Professionally engage with clients and site managers, addressing any questions or concerns related to installations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of completed work, including materials used and time spent on each project.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself, your team, and clients.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven Carpentry Experience: Specifically in fire door installation.
  • Comprehensive Knowledge: Of fire door regulations and standards (e.g., BS 8214, Building Regulations Part B).
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Travel Requirements: Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across South London, Kent, and Reading.
