Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at James Lambeth Limited, a leading regional civil engineering contractor. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing highly competitive tender costs and ensuring quality submissions to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of company targets and objectives for new work
  • Produce accurate and detailed estimates for tender submissions, taking into account all relevant factors and risks
  • Collaborate with the commercial and procurement departments to ensure accurate pricing and tender documentation
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and ambiguities in tender documentation
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key subcontractors and suppliers
  • Contribute to the development of company policies and procedures related to estimating and tendering
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in estimating within a civil engineering company
  • Minimum of 3 years' site experience (desirable)
  • Strong understanding of financial management and pre-contract management principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Full driving license and CSCS card (desirable)
Preferred Qualifications
  • HNC in Civil Engineering or NVQ Level 6 in Construction (desirable)
  • Business Collaborator certification (desirable)
