Role Overview:

The Process Improvement Engineer will oversee and execute engineering capital initiatives, guiding projects from initial design through to commissioning and operational phases, ensuring safety, timeliness, and budget adherence.

Key Responsibilities:

Accountable for the successful execution of engineering projects of varying scales, ensuring compliance with business requirements and applicable regulations.

  • Develop and implement commissioning strategies in collaboration with the Engineering Project Director, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.
  • Facilitate plant enhancements in partnership with manufacturing and site management, achieving targeted improvements.
  • Act as the primary coordinator for ongoing improvement initiatives, collaborating with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to implement safe and cost-effective enhancements that boost manufacturing capacity and reliability.
Project Engineering and Management:
  • Serve as a deputy for the Engineering Project Director as needed.
  • Adopt the company’s Project Management Methodology for assigned capital projects.
  • Generate project documentation, including scope definitions, cost and time projections, and execution plans, adhering to company standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, providing necessary support and involvement throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mitigate risks associated with project scopes through initial assessments and analysis tools.
  • Implement defined project scopes for Capital Expenditure (CAPEX).
  • Create and maintain health and safety documentation in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Monitor project financials and progress against milestones to ensure completion within budget and schedule.
  • Coordinate with site construction supervisors to support on-site project execution.
  • Facilitate the handover of completed projects to internal stakeholders, including necessary training and documentation.
  • Manage the commissioning phases of projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Track and resolve project snagging issues, providing comprehensive reports.
  • Offer technical support to plant operations as required for both major and minor projects.
  • Stay informed on new standards and maintain ongoing professional development.
  • Conduct internal safety and quality audits of the site.
  • Support manufacturing and maintenance teams in identifying and prioritizing plant improvements.
  • Implement and commission continuous improvement projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
Engineering Expertise:
  • Apply project management best practices effectively.
  • Engage with engineering disciplines to ensure timely contributions.
  • Assess project workloads and assist in resource allocation.
  • Review engineering deliverables for quality assurance.
  • Ensure thorough and organized project documentation.
  • Understand chemical process engineering fundamentals and collaborate with Process Engineers throughout project stages.
  • Apply mass, energy, and momentum balances to engineering challenges.
  • Possess a general understanding of chemical manufacturing equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Process Safety Management elements.
Analysis and Decision Making:
  • Analyze complex scenarios, weighing diverse data to make informed decisions.

Ensure compliance with internal processes and procedures, routinely identifying opportunities for document review to enhance effectiveness.

Qualifications:
