At Pearson, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced End Point Assessor to join our team. As an End Point Assessor, you will play a critical role in ensuring that apprentices meet the rigorous standards set by employers and are fully competent in their occupation.
About the RoleThe End Point Assessor will be responsible for assessing the performance of apprentices in accordance with published assessment and grading criteria and procedures. You will ensure that all EPA reports and assessment evidence are of high quality and accurately recorded.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in regular training and standardisation activities to maintain and improve your skills and knowledge.
- Assess the performance of apprentices in accordance with published assessment and grading criteria and procedures.
- Follow protocols set out in Pearson's specifications, assessment materials, and quality assurance protocols.
- Maintain service-level agreements with regards to responding to EPA planning, operational activities, reports, and submissions of assessment outcomes.
- Report all risks and issues encountered during the end-point assessment to Pearson.
- Ensure all EPA reports and assessment evidence are high quality and accurately recorded.
- Support Pearson with any appeals from apprentices regarding assessment decisions.
- Allow additional time for travel when making EPA arrangements.
- Raise any conflicts of interest, including in relation to the independence of assessment.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Pearson's end-point assessment activities.
- Contribute to external quality assurance activities undertaken by the Institute for Apprenticeships (IfA).
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Current relevant occupational competence within the workplace for at least 5 years in HR, plus familiarity with the role of the apprenticeship.
- Knowledge and understanding of the occupation standard.
- Qualified with a relevant qualification/s at or above the level you are assessing.
- Experience of leading meetings/structured interviews/discussions.
- Experience of complying with quality assurance/regulatory requirements.
- Evidence of commitment to maintaining CPD, in line with new apprenticeship requirements and the EPA specialism.
- Assessing Qualification or Teaching Qualification.
- No conflict of interest, past or current relationship with the apprentice.
Experience of marking or grading judgements, experience in the telecoms industry, and in-depth knowledge of the associated apprenticeship standard, assessment plan, specification, assessment instruments, and recording tools.
Other RequirementsYou will need to have:
- A personal IT equipment capable of running Pearson required software.
- A suitable broadband connection, microphone, headphones, and a webcam.
- A personal and secure email account.
- A postal address in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man.
- The right to work in the UK.
- Allow additional time for travel when making EPA arrangements.
- Attend standardisation events.
