Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our Theatre scheduling department as a Scheduling Performance Officer. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work with our planned care division and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the inpatient waiting list, ensuring it is accurate and up-to-date. They will work closely with the scheduling team to ensure all members are trained and confident in the application of the Elective Access policy. The postholder will also be responsible for data cleansing, managing patient pathways, and ensuring data quality improvement within the inpatient scheduling team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the inpatient waiting list, ensuring it is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Work with the scheduling team to ensure all members are trained and confident in the application of the Elective Access policy.
  • Manage data cleansing and ensure patient pathways are accurate and correct for reporting.
  • Participate in the management of projects related to patient pathway systems to develop and promote good data capture and patient management.
  • Provide ad-hoc reports as requested by the directorate teams.
  • Represent the scheduling team at relevant directorate meetings and work alongside the Trust's Performance team.
  • Provide regular reports on progress, showing achievements in service improvements, training statistics, waiting list KPIs, and the impact on patient care.

Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and high-level proficiency in computer and information systems. Essential experience includes using hospital information systems to produce and analyse data, experience of training, and experience of helping teams prioritise their workloads within a very busy environment. Proven track record of working under pressure to strict deadlines is also essential.
